Do any of you use promotion or advertising forums to promote your forum?

What promotion forums do you use? Have they been successful in getting you new members at all?

We can attract new members to my forum quite easily depending on what I post on X.
We are able to supply members with some content they can't regularly get from other sources so it peaks a lot of peoples interest.
It's once they join then the difficult part is trying to turn lurkers into contributors. Years back when we opened the site most people used desktops.
With many people using mobile phones now it's a lot hard for people to provide good content so the forum doesn't attract the more creative and sharing types.
I don't think outside promotions would help my forum with turning lurkers into contributors.

Mobile is definitely an area we (forum owners) need to care more about.

It's hard to do with forums, though.

But modern community platforms are basically built on mobile. I think more traditional forum software needs to be built on mobile.

I think most of the traditional forum software nowadays have mobile support. I know MyBB doesn't out of the box, but literally every other one I believe does. Anyways I've used promotional forums and still do for my forums. It does help bring in some new members from time to time.

I like promotion forums mainly because its a kind of forum that brings all forums together, like admin forums, like this one.

We [forum owners] are a bunch that should stick together!
