Different host for domain and website?

Do you use two different services for your hosting and domain name, or do you get them both on one service?

I've used my web hosting service for both for the past 15 years and never had any issues, myself.

How about you? Where do you stand on this issue?

I originally had them both from the same provider until their pricing got out of control. I moved my domains over to a different company and a few years later I moved my site to that same provider. Other than pricing, having them together or separate didn't seem to matter.
    - Please vote for: More search options in "Prune / Move Users" (vB6)
    - Completed: Make "Allow Edit Display Names" a Usergroup permission (vB6) Added as of 6.0.8

I've always kept mine on the same provider but a .com is $10 a year for the first year and $20 a year after that. I'm not a fan of that. Why does it need to go up?
