I joined a discussion forum many years ago that focused main on Australian Rules Football. For many years I enjoyed it but the guy that ran it was mainly focused on the income it could generate and when we encountered some problem members he really didn't want to address it. As a result, a couple of us started a vBulletin forum that focused more on just one club.
In the next week we move form VB 4.2.5 to 6.0.8 and this should hopefully address some of the challenges we have faced.

Great story!
Hopefully, the move is smooth and fast. What features are you looking forward to the most on vb6?

We've experienced some weird things with iPhone characters that weren't easily resolved with the old version, copying articles over from various news services that convert some characters incorrectly, 100's of 'bots' trying to join which is time consuming to go through but the main problem members have mentioned is the how they can view the site on their mobile phones. 17 years ago when the forum started nearly everyone used desktops, the tablets now it's mobile phones so VB6 will fix that in a big way.
We lose a lot of add-ons that we had with the older version but fix a few other things.
Simply speaking most sites have grown out of VB4. It's just a shame that there isn't as many add-ons and enhancements we could add that we previously enjoyed but you have to move with the times.

Having a responsive forum is definitely an important feature. I think it's crazy that MyBB is still not responsive out of the box!
