That Off Topic Section...?

How do you feel about off topic sections on forums? Specially on niche forums?

Do you think a niche forum should have an off topic section or would it be better not to add one?

Having an off-topic section can keep people more engaged and help build a sense of community, especially if it’s a very niche community and conversations become stale. The only downside is when someone inevitably goes off the rails with controversial nonsense—there's always “that one person” in every group.

Or maybe I’m just a magnet for the wingnuts. 😂

I can go off topic at times, but I try not to.

I usually always include an off topic section on any forum I make. I just don't post on it as much as an admin of the forum.

I try to focus my best content within the niche sections.
