Can you run your forum yourself?

Can you run all aspects of the administrative and moderator side of your forum without the assistance of additional moderators?

If yes, how do you make it easy while also ensuring your forum has fresh content and that you engage regularly with your membership?

For those who can't do sole admining operations, how many staff members do you have to have in order to not be overwhelmed?

It's been a struggle to keep or attract good moderators over the last few years. Prior to that I have some very talented ones.
Life happens though and eventually their family commitments come first and they step back.
I can easily handle the forum by myself but I have two others who aren't that committed. It's one of the goals this year to identify someone who wants to step up.

I always like to have me and another moderator.

However, I could do it by myself if needed. But it's nice to have some backup.

My style is me and another moderator and then no more until the forum gets too overwhelming for both of us, then I'll seek more moderators.
