One of the biggest reasons I can’t stand traditional social media is that no matter what you’re talking about, someone always finds a way to make it political. I don’t care which side of the aisle you’re on, I don't care and I’m over it.
Because of that, I use the “150-Year Rule.” It’s simple: nothing political from the last 150 years is allowed. No questions, no comments, no memes, no sneaky references to politicians, wars, elections -- you name it. Foreign or domestic, it doesn't matter. It’s been a lifesaver for filtering out the political junkies who try to worm their opinions into every conversation.
"Oh, I’m in Chicago! You know who else is from Chicago and hates America?" That's strike one. One more reference: banned. There is no arguing and there is no compromise.
