    Deleting member and posts

How do you all feel about deleting members and posts from your forum?

I'm mainly referring to inactive members and old posts that are no longer being posted.

Do you think there is a benefit to doing any of these deletions? Why or why not?

Depends on how many posts they contribute. For smaller levels of contributions I'd prefer to transfer their posts into a catchall account that I set-up and delete the account. If they've made a decent level contributions I just leave the account inactive.

I delete the accounts that sign up and are never seen again. If someone posts a few things, I tend to leave it up.

On that note, I always thought it was bizarre when people would sign up and disappear right away. What's the point? Did the welcome email scare them away? 😂

Just a gut feel but I think it's a technical issue for them if they have to wait for an admin approval. I have had some feedback lately saying things like I didn't get an email to tell me I was approved.
        It is frustrating though

I don't require admin approval or email confirmation. If you answer the security question, you get instant access. I even do that on my other non-vb forums.
