Those are pretty solid discounts, especially for cloud. I can’t imagine why someone would pay so much for Xenforo Cloud over vBulletin at that price point.

I actually just compared vBulletin versus XenForo cloud options.

That's crazy that XenForo is so much higher! XF's lowest plan cost is the cost of the highest VB plan.

I like XF but I would buy VB's long before paying for their plan.

And really the only perk of XF Cloud is the free ticket support. But unless you're an absolute noob, how often would need that?

Comparing apples to apples, basing the choice on that one perk:

Xenforo Cloud (smallest package) - Yearly cost $648
        • Ticket support included
        • 50GB storage
vBulletin Cloud Gold - Yearly cost after discount $360
        • Ticket support included
        • Phone support included
        • 100GB storage
        • Groups capabilities
        • Blog capabilities

Yeah, vBulletin is definitely offering a better deal.

And I think the current offer is 50% with the holiday deal, isn't it?

That’s right, 50% off Cloud or $25 off self-hosted, which as you know is already very reasonably priced.

I can’t pass up a coupon 😂 so I grabbed the Cloud deal for an idea I’ve been tinkering with.

I'm not yet sold on Cloud.

I like self-hosting too much. But Cloud is still a good idea and the way of the future because it's easier for the customer to make a forum that way. That could mean more customers for the service and more customers means the service stays open and doesn't close down for business.

I am thinking about upgrading one of my VB5 lic. Was waiting for the discount.
