    Unique Forum Genres

What are some of the most unique forum genres or niches that you've seen?

Have any of you run a forum that had a very unique niche or genre?

I set up a private, invite-only forum specifically for our neighborhood and it turned out to be incredibly useful. It became the go-to for sharing info about the neighborhood watch, hiring babysitters, organizing block parties, coordinating garage sales, and other community updates. It kept us all connected and up to date without relying on Facebook or that godawful Nextdoor app.

Honestly, I’m surprised vBulletin isn’t used more often for hyperlocal communities. It’s practically perfect for it right "out of the box."

That's a very cool idea for a forum!
