    Hi

Ive been a part of online communities for many years and enjoy it more when the forums are vibrant and good discussions occur.
I'm upgrading a site from 4.2.5 to 6.0.8 in the next week and see this is VB admins forum as a good chance to get some tips from similar minded folk.

You're in for a surprise with vB 6. It's vastly improved over previous versions!

            My fanboy hot take:

Functionality: vB 6 actually gets updates—unlike vB 4, which seemed to operate on a “set it and forget it” philosophy. It performs better, feels faster, and won’t make you want to throw your computer out the window.

Design: vB 6 finally caught up with the 21st century. Sure, it’s still forum software, so don’t expect miracles, but it no longer looks like a relic from the MySpace era.

Features: Shopify integration? Check. Profiles you can actually make your own? Yes. And user reactions—because let’s face it, without those, your forum’s just a ghost town.

Icing on top: It’s much easier to run a forum on mobile with vB 6.

It’s very much worth the cost and effort to upgrade.
